Research Projects

  • Review disparities in pediatric surgical outcomes between low- and middle-income countries (LMIC's) and high-income countries (HIC)
  • Review burden of disease concepts as they apply to pediatric surgery
  • Develop databases for prospective collection of pediatric surgical data across multiple sites
  • Perform institutional and community-based studies estimating the magnitude of the avertable burden of pediatric surgical disease and the backlog of pediatric surgical cases
  • Develop disability weights for pediatric surgical conditions, for use in Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALY) calculations
